1. Do we NEED a video?

YES!! With today’s technology,  All Occasion Video is capable of capturing the Highlights and emotions of the day with little or no attention from you or your guests. When grandmom is up on the dancefloor doing the ‘YMCA’ with her walker, a still photo just doesn’t capture it, and if you are not on the dance floor to see it, you’ve lost the moment forever, UNLESS, you hired a videographer.

2. Are your videos expensive?

No.  Our prices for 2007 & 2008 range from $1295 to $2695.00 . Many people come to us and think we are relatively inexpensive, for what they get for their money. We use full size Broadcast level 3-chip digital cameras, several wireless microphones, Frezzolini lighting, and State-of-the-art editing and DVD authoring software and hardware. We also spend thousands of dollars each year on graphic packages and software updates so that we can provide you with the best possible wedding DVD.  In the video market we have found that we are in the middle of the price range yet at the top in the quality range. But when choosing a video company that will get the chance to preserve your 1 special day, do you really want to make your choice according to price only.

3. What is ‘All Occasion Video’ ?

All Occasion Video was started in 1986. I created the company as a part time venture, but as my talents and passion for video grew I expanded with additional cameramen and in 1993 went full-time.  We have a 1000 sq. ft studio located in NE Philadelphia. We have a staff of young and very talented cameramen who have all been with me for, at minimum 4 years. My aim has always been to provide a very high quality and emotional wedding video, with the best equipment and camera talent available.  Each wedding is individually edited and created as one of a kind video.  Though we also video school and corporate functions, weddings are our main business and create each one with the utmost in care and passion.

4. What is your turnaround time?

We generally have a turnaround time of 4-5 weeks.  Jan, Feb, March, and May only have a 1 or 2 week wait,  Sept. & Oct. may be 5-6 weeks.

5. What is a ‘MOSAIC’?

This is something unique to All Occasion Video.  We have developed a way to ‘grab’ approx. 2500 still frames (4X6 photos) from the video and arrange them into a 24 X 36 Mosaic, forming a large portrait of the Bride and Groom. You have probably seen them in commercials or in malls. From far away, it appears to be a portrait.  Yet, the close you get, you will see that the picture is made up of many many very small photographs.  An even bigger benefit of this option, is that you will in addtion to the mosaic, receive a CD-rom with all 2500 still frames saved as .jpg files which you can then reprint as 4X6 prints at your descretion.

6. Do you use lights?

Not during the ceremony at all. Our cameras are of such a high caliber, that we have not yet encountered a church where any additional lighting was needed.  We do however, use a light during the reception, however, it is portable, only on the camera, and is in the 60 watt range, similar to a living room light. You will see in our video samples, that the videographer is very unobtrusive, and people in the video are virtually oblivious to the light.

7. Do you do interviews?

Yes and no.  On both 2 camera packages, during the cocktail hour, one of the cameramen will attempt to get a comment or two from the bridal party and the parents only.   We generally don’t do the ‘table interview’ thing unless a bride and groom specifically request it.  These comments are then inserted picture in a picture style throughout the reception portion of the video.  We attempt to be very considerate of the bridal party and guests, and do not pressure them.

8. Can I put honeymoon pictures at the end of the video?

Yes, and they are FREE!  You give us up to 10 honeymoon pictures, digital or hard copy, and we’ll add them to the end of the video in a custom picture animation!

9. How do you record sound at the ceremony and reception?

First the Ceremony.  We use very high quality wireless  microphones, and even a back up mp3 recorder for the groom.  These mics allow us to get the clearest possible sound from the bride and groom and officiant, and we also go one step farther by placing a wireless mic on any podium where a speaker or reader may be. Back up mics are also picking up ambient sound for singing and general sound.

Second the Reception.  In addition to a high resolution shotgun microphone on the camera, we will use a wireless system in conjunction with the band or DJ’s system that will result in a direct feed of the music from them directly to us. In editing we will combine the 2 channels at just the proper mix, whether it be the toast, a special dance with dad or everyone dancing to YMCA!

10. Will we get a DVD and how many are included?

All of our packages include DVD version of the video.  The basic single camera package includes 3 standard DVD’s which you insert and play. The standard single camera and the Two camera deluxe packages include 3 fully chaptered DVD’s . These include an interface, with up to 18 motion menu icons set up to give you access instantly to the most important segments of the video. The signature package includes 6 fully chaptered DVD’s. Of course, additional copies are available.

11. Will my DVD’s play in foreign DVD players?

Our DVD’s do not have any type of copy protection and/or region coding. Most foreign  (Pal) DVD players made in the last 2-3 years are capable of Playing NTSC (US made) DVD’s with no problem.

12. Is there a time limit on your coverage?

Our packages include up to 10 hours of total coverage, with up to 5 hours of the 10 being  reception coverage.

13. If something CRAZY happens at the wedding, can that be included in the DVD, but not part of the main video?

Yes. We can create Easter Eggs!  They are hidden icons within the menu which when clicked will access a hidden video clip such as a blooper!
